Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals, the only IPL franchise where Shane Warne played in IPL, paid a moving tribute to the Australian legend and said his name stands for 'magic'.

“Shane Warne. The name stands for magic. Our first Royal; the man who made us believe that impossible is just a myth. A leader who walked the walk, talked the talk, and turned underdogs into champions. A mentor who turned everything he touched into gold," the IPL franchise said.

“We don't have the words to express what we truly feel at the moment but what we know is that the world is poorer today, as it will now exist without his smile, his brilliance, and his attitude to live to its fullest. We are completely heartbroken as are millions of cricket fans around the world," the club said.

“Warnie, you will forever be our captain, leader, Royal. Rest in Peace, legend," the club further said.

Warne had led Rajasthan Royals to win the inaugural IPL title.

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne died of suspected heart attack in Thailand on Friday. He was 52.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement to the Australian media.

According to reports, he suffered a heart attack.
