PV Sindhu's silver made India happy and proud: Modi

New Delhi, Aug 28 (IBNS): Appreciating badminton star PV Sindhu for winning the silver medal in the ongoing Asian Games, Indian PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday said her accomplishment has made the country happy and proud.

"The formidable @Pvsindhu1 is one of India’s most talented and inspiring athletes. Her skills and perseverance are noteworthy. She wins the prized Silver Medal in Badminton at the #AsianGames2018. Her accomplishment makes 125 crore Indians happy and proud," Modi tweeted.

Losing to Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying in the badminton final of Asian Games 2018, PV Sindhu settled for a silver medal on Tuesday.

PV Sindhu lost to world no.1 Tzu Ying 13-21, 16-21.

This is the first silver won by India in badminton at the Asian Games.

Earlier on day 10 of the competition, both Indian Men's and Women's Compound Team Archery won silver medals.

After earning three silvers on Tuesday, India's tally of medals reached 44.
