Pune FC-SGFI Nationals: Maharashtra Under-17 girls reach semis

Pune, Apr 29 (IBNS): Maharashtra Under-17 Girls cruised into the semifinals with a comfortable 3-0 win over Madhya Pradesh in the Pune FC-59th SGFI National Football Championship, at the Balewadi Sports Complex (Warm Up ground), on Tuesday.


Maharashtra’s other teams, Under-19 Girls and Under-19 Boys, suffered exits in the quarterfinal stage. The girls went down 0-4 to Tamil Nadu while the boys suffered a penalty-shootout heartbreak going down 0-3 in the tiebreaker after being tied 1-1 at full time with IPSC.

GIRLS, Under-17

Maharashtra: 3 (Zarastin Mistry, Komal Deokule, Karen Paes) bt Madhya Pradesh: 0

Haryana: 2 (Nisha Lamba 2) bt Odisha: 1 (Javamani Tubu)

GIRLS, Under-19

Odisha: 3 (Joynha Rita, Itishree Sardar, Pournima Tishnu) bt Uttar Pradesh: 0

Madhya Pradesh: 3 (Divyani Singh, Nisha Bayas, Sunita Babar) bt Chhattisgarh: 2 (Vandana Devi, Supriya Kumari)

BOYS, Under-19

IPSC: 1 (Piyush) drew with Maharashtra: 1 (Siddharth Kolse) – IPSC won 3-0 in tie-breaker with Piyush, Ajit Roy and Chhatrapani scoring

Punjab: 2 (Sukhajit Singh, Ravindrapal Singh) bt Uttar Pradesh: 0
