Proud the way Kings XI Punjab fought back against Kolkata Knight Riders: Preity Zinta

Indore, May 12 (IBNS): Bollywood actress and Kings XI Punjab co-owner, Preity Zinta, said she felt proud the way her team fought back against Kolkata Knight Riders, who piled up 245 runs on scoreboard in a sporting encounter at the Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 246, Preity's Punjab fought hard but fell short of 31 runs from Kolkata's total.

After the match, Preity tweeted, "Well played KKR It was always tough to beat 245 but I’m very proud of the way the #kxip boys fought back"

Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin's decision to send the Knights to bat after winning the toss backfired, as Kolkata scored 245/6 in 20 overs.

In the run chase, Punjab started off well with Christopher Gayle and KL Rahul but lost wickets in the middle overs to score 214/8 in 20 overs.

Rahul has once again scored the maximum runs (66 off 29) for his team.

Ashwin's contribution of 45 (22) lower down the order proved to be futile as Punjab fell short of the required runs.
