Patnaik, Sutar qualify for India Finals of Audi quattro Cup 2015

Bhubaneswar, Jan 18 (IBNS): The duo of Dibyalok Patnaik and AC Sutar qualified for the National final after emerging top amongst the Audi owners at the lung opener of the Audi quattro Cup 2015.

In the qualifying round held at Bhubaneswar Golf Club here on Saturday, Patnaik and Sutar combined to score 27 stableford points to emerge as the top team amongst Audi owners and runners up overall. Audi Bhubaneswar hosted the Bhubaneswar leg of the Audi quattro Cup 2015.

The duo of KP (Mukul) Das and Rajnish Das emerged as the overall winners with 28 points. The team of Shailendra Upadhyay and Ajay Patnaik took home the second runners up trophy with 27 points on a countback of last six holes. The event was played on the Single Peoria Handicap system to determine the team handicap for the day through six hidden holes.

The evening gala dinner, which saw performances by, internationally acclaimed illusionist Akshay Laxman and singer Shruti Pathak enthralled Bhubaneswar’s leading corporate czars in attendance was compered by the stunning Kubra Sait.

In the various skills competitions held alongside the main event, DM Misra (Babi) won the ‘Straightest Drive’ on Hole No. 10 while Srimoy Kar won the ‘Closest to the Pin’ on Hole No. 15 and Dalbir Singh took home the ‘Longest Drive’ award on Hole No. 18.

The Audi quattro Cup, celebrating its Silver Jubilee this season, has become one of the most distinguished amateur golf tournaments around the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries. The 8th season of the Indian edition will see it travel to 13 other cities and see the participation of over 1500 golfers.

Audi Kolkata will host the next leg at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club on Jan 21.
