Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 55 runs

Kolkata, Mar 16 (IBNS) Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 55 runs in their first ICC World T20 match here on Wednesday.

Posting a massive 201 for five on the scorecard, Pakistani bowlers restricted Bangladesh at 146 for six in 20 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan remained the top scorer for Bangladesh as he scored 50 not out, but lacked partners at the other end to proceed further towards victory.

Skipper Shahid Afridi played an electrifying knock of 49 runs off 19 balls to help Pakistan post 201 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs in a ICC World T20 match here.

Afridi butchered the Bangladeshi attack as he hammered four boundaries and four sixes in his knock.

Ahmed Shehzad (52) Mohammad Hafeez (64) made important contributions for Pakistan.

Hafeez smashed seven boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Taskin Ahmed took two wickets for Bangladesh.
