Istanbul, Nov 30 (IBNS): Russian Tennis beauty Maria Sharapova had a moment of surprise recently on the court when a fan proposed her marriage.

The incident occurred during an exhibition match which she was playing against  local player Cagla Buyukakcay.

As Maria was about to serve, a fan shouted: "Maria, will you marry me?"

Spectators at the venue burst into laughter when Maria decided to add more spice to the moment when she answered humorously: "Maybe."

Maria defeated her opponent in the match  6-7, 0-6.

She made her return to international Tennis this year in April after serving her  15 months doping ban.
