No retirement plans before 2017: Bolt
Bolt has arrived in India on Tuesday to take part of seven-a-side exhibition match against a team which will have some of the top cricketers of the country.
The match dubbed “Bolt and Yuvi – Battle of the Legends” will take place in Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru later on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons ahead of the match, the current World record holder said, “India is all about cricket. In Jamaica, it's all about running. Schools compete to produce athletes.”
On being asked about retirement, Bolt dismissed any such plans before 2017.
He affirmed that no such plans are there in his mind right now.
The record-breaking athlete added that, he is just focusing on the Rio Olympics.
Bolt said, “Going to run for one more season after Rio Games and then let's see.”
The 28-year-old sprinter ended this season recently in Warsaw, Poland by clocking a new world indoor best time of 9.98 seconds to win the 100m race.
Although the six-time Olympic gold medalist has become a legend in the track and field, but Bolt himself has confessed that he is a huge fan of cricket.
In a previous interview, Bolt said that he aspired to become a fast bowler before making a career in running.
He also previously expressed his desire to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bolt is already seemed to be pretty excited about the cricket match he will play in India.
In his twitter account, the world champion said, “Cricket Lovely Cricket.. India I'm ready!!! Are you Ready???”
