Wellington/IBNS: New Zealand registered a 10-wicket victory against India in the first Test match here on Monday as Virat Kohli and his men received yet another jolt after their defeat in the ODI series.

India were bowled out for 191 runs in their second innings.

Managing just a slender lead, New Zealand reached 9 runs target comfortably to go 1-0 up in the series.

Agarwal (58), Rahane (29) and Pant (25) were only the major contributors in the innings.

New Zealand pacers used the conditions perfectly to rattle through the Indian innings as  Southee (5/61) and Boult (4/39) destroyed the opponents to give home side an easy victory at the end.

Latham (7) and Blundell (2) easily reached the winning scores.
