MS Dhoni responds to calls for his ouster from Indian T20 squad

New Delhi, Nov 12 (IBNS): Amid debates in the cricket circle over MS Dhoni's future in the shorter format of the game, former Indian skipper has said it was playing for the national team that keeps him motivated.

Several former cricketers have questioned the 2011 World Cup winning skipper's future in the T20 format of the game after the recent series against New Zealand.

Speaking on the criticisms, Dhoni was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times: "Everybody has views in life and it should be respected."

He said: "It is representing the country which is the best motivation for me because we play cricket for only a span of time. You can play for one year to 15 years, some play 20 years, but in the life span, let's say you live for 70 years, 10 to 15 years is nothing and that's the only time you can proudly say that I'm representing my country. The biggest motivation is being part of the Indian cricket team."

Dhoni represented India in the recent limited overs series against Australia and New Zealand.
