MC Mary Kom wins gold medal in CWG

Gold Coast, Apr 14 (IBNS): Maintaining her strong form in the 48 kg Boxing event of the Commonwealth Games, Indian boxer MC Mary Kom won a gold medal on Saturday.

This was India's 18th gold medal in the event.

She defeated Kristina O Hara to clinch gold.

" Never Buy Gold, Simply Earn It'- Mary Kom @MangteC believes in earning for #India and she did that exactly today by winning a in women's 48 kg at #CWG2018. You are an inspiration! #GC2018Boxing #IndiaAtCWG #CWG2018 #SAI," SAI Media tweeted.

"A #Golden dream come true for @MangteC and #TeamIndia! 35 year old boxing legend #MaryKom bags a Gold in her debut #GC2018Boxing Women's 45-48kg Final Bout at the #GC2018 #CommonwealthGames She beat #KristinaOHara of #TeamNIR by unanimous decision! #Congratulations Champion!," IOA Team India tweeted.
