Lower order blurred the failure of top order: Dhoni

London, Aug 17 (IBNS): Indian skipper MS Dhoni on Sunday said the performance of the lower-order 'blurred' the performance of the top order in the first two Tests of the series against England.

England defeated India by an innings and 244 runs int he fifth and final match to clinch the series 3-1.

"Right from the start, our batsmen never really performed, the lower order helped out and that blurred the performance of the top order," Dhoni said.

He said the Indian batsmen lost confidence as the series progressed.

"We have lost a lot of confidence over the five-Test series. It is disappointing. There will be many experiences which the youngsters will learn as not too many have played Tests away from home and hopefully they can take that it into the future," the skipper said.
