Lahiri wins Malaysian Open

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 8 (IBNS): Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri added one more feather to his crown by winning Malaysian Open Sunday.

In a dramatic finish, Lahiri early birdie blitz helped snatch the title from Bernd Wiesberger.

In his route to the title win, the Indian golfer birdied four of his first five holes and held his nerve down the closing stretch as a final round 68 gave him a 16 under par total and a one shot victory.

With Sunday's victory, Lahiri won his  first European Tour title.

“I don’t think it’s sunk in just yet,”  Lahiri was quoted as saying by europeantour.com.

“But I’m pretty sure when it hits home it’s going to be a really happy moment for me," he said.
