Kerala nun Sister Sabina, dressed in religious uniform, wins hearts by crossing hurdles at athletics meet
A Kerala nun, who was seen wearing a humble religious attire, is breaking the internet by participating in an athletics meet where she crossed the hurdles effortlessly and even completed the race in the number one position, winning the hearts of millions across the country.
Sister Sabina was once a national-level hurdler in her teens.
She stunned the athletic world by finishing first in the 55-plus category at the State Masters Athletics.
The audience erupted in cheers seeing her performance in the track.
Hailing from Ennappara, the nun first made her mark in athletics when she was studying in class 9.
She reportedly participated in university-level events in the latter part of her career.
Later, she shifted to the world of teaching.
"Next March, I am retiring from my role as a physical education teacher. I wanted to compete one last time before retiring, which is why I came to the State Masters meet," she told NDTV.
