London, May 18 (IBNS): Footballer John Terry has signed a new one-year contract with Chelsea Football Club.

The decision has been taken following the appointment of Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager last month, and consultation between Terry, Conte, the owner and the board, read the club website.

Terry was quoted as saying by the club website: "I am delighted to sign a new contract with the club. Everyone knows I'm Chelsea through and through. "

"I am looking forward to next season under the new manager and hopefully we can make it a successful one," he said.
The agreement will take the footballer into his 22nd year with the Blues, having signed at the age of 14.

He has since made 703 first-team appearances for the side.
