Jhulan Goswami becomes highest wicket-taker in Women's World Cups

Hamilton: Veteran Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami on Saturday became the all-time highest wicket-taker in Women's ODI World Cups.

With 40 wickets, Jhulan surpassed the 34-year-old record which was held by Australia's Lyn Fullston (39 wickets).

Jhulan achieved the milestone in the 2022 World Cup match against West Indies at Seddon Park here.

The 39-year-old fast bowler dismissed Anisa Mohammed, who chipped straight up and at mid-wicket the substitute fielder Taniya Bhatia went back to complete the catch.

England's Carole Hodges (37 wickets) and Clare Taylor (36 wickets) and Cathryn Fitzpatrick (33 wickets) of Australia complete the top five wicket-takers in World Cups.
