Jammu and Kashmir: Police organises ‘Run for Unity’ event in Handwara

 Srinagar: In the memory of Police martyrs and to pay tributes to the martyrs, Police have organised a ‘Run for Unity’ event in Handwara.

ASP Handwara Shri Mashkoor Ahmad flagged off the run which started from Chotipora crossing and culminated at Peaks Environment Hall Handwara.

DySP DAR Handwara, SHO Handwara and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

The run was categorized into two age groups viz below 18 and above 18.

Officers congratulated the winners and runner ups and distributed the prizes among the 1st, 2nd and 3rd on both age groups respectively.

The event was organized to give a boost to the sports activities and channelize youth energy in a positive manner and to reaffirm the inherent strength of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to unity.

On the conclusion of the event, Handwara Police paid rich tributes to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the peace and prosperity of the nation and also thanked the public for their active participation in honouring the police martyrs.
