Jammu and Kashmir: Doon International School Football Tournament kick-starts

Srinagar: The first Doon International School Football Tournament of the valley started on Monday.

The tournament is organised by the school's sports department.

Principal DIS Priya Koushik and chief coach M Ashraf Dijoo inaugurated the tournament and encouraged the players.

The Ist match was being played between Court Road FC and PadshiBagh FC. Khan, the Chairman of the DIS said that he is very keen to have such type of activities in the valley for the youth's benefit.

"After few days another mega event of Doon Open Roller Skating and Roll Ball Championship is being conducted at Radpora Skating Rink," he said.

In football tournament 24 teams are participating.

The principal DIS paid well wishes to all the players of both the teams and welcome them in Doon International School. In his speech, DIS Chief Coach Dijoo while welcoming all the participants, officials and guests hoped that all the players, officials will maintain the discipline during the game and show the best sportsmanship in all the tournaments.

The match ended with a score of 3: 1 in favour of Court Road FC.
