Jammu and Kashmir: DC Reasi flags off Fit India Freedom Run

Srinagar:  Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police, Rashmi Wazir and DYSSO, Subash Chander on Tuesday flagged off Fit India Freedom Run here from the premises of the DDC office complex.

The freedom run culminated at sports stadium.

The event was organised by the department of Youth Services and Sports.

The girl students from GHSS Reasi and all the staff members of the district administration participated in the event.

The DC, while speaking on the occasion, said that it is a very good step to revive our daily physical fitness programs which were deferred due to COVID19. She said that main aim of organizing such events is to engage youth in sports activities to keep them physically and mentally fit.

She advised the youth to actively participate in sports and spread message of fitness in society.

The DC also highlighted the initiatives taken by district administration to give flip to sports activities in the district and said that besides developing play grounds, sports equipment will also be provided to all Panchayats of the district for which Rs 20,000 has been earmarked for each Panchayat.
