IPL: Punjab beat RCB by 32 runs

Bangalore, May 9 (IBNS): Kings XI Punjab's dominance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) continued as the side defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 32 runs here on Friday.

Kings bowlers restricted RCB to 166 for nine after posting 198 for eight on the scoreboard.

Sandeep Sharma looked dangerous with the ball as he picked up all the top three batsmen of the opponents including the precious wicket of skipper Virat Kohli (0).

Sharma also took the wickets of Chris Gayle (4) and Parthiv Patel (13) as the team languished as 26 for three in 5.3 overs.

AB de Villiers looked positive as he scored 53 runs off 26 balls. He smashed five sixes and a boundary in his knock.

Shivam Sharma and Lakshmipathy Balaji picked up two wickets each for the Kings.

Earlier, Kings posted 198 on the scorecard with David Miller top scoring with his 66 off 29 balls. He hit eight boundaries and three sixes in his destructive knock.

Virender Sehwag (30), Mandeep Singh (21) and Glenn Maxwell (25) made some important contributions with their willows.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Mitchell Starc and Harshal Patel picked up two wickets each for RCB.
