IPL: Punjab beat Delhi by 7 wickets

Chandigarh, May 25 (IBNS): Delhi Daredevils continued their poor performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Kevin Pitersen's boys suffered another seven wicket defeat at the hands of KingsXI Punjab here on Sunday.

Punjab, who are at the top of the points table, posted all-round performance as after restricting Delhi to 115 runs, Bailey's side reached 119 by losing three wickets with 37 balls to spare.

Manan Vohra (47) and David Miller (47*) added 96 runs in the fourth wicket partnership to reach the side close to the target.

Imran Tahir bowled  Vohra in the second ball of the 14th over, as Punjab needed four more runs to win the match.

Rain interrupted the proceedings at that point. However, Punjab reached the target quite easily at the point by demolishing Delhi.

Mohammed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat picked up a wicket each apart from Imran.

Earlier, Punjab bowlers bowled out Delhi for 115 runs  in 18.1 overs.

Kevin Pietersen remained the top scorer for the side with his 58.

He smashed nine boundaries in his 41-ball knock.

The rest of the Delhi batsmen failed top contribute much with their willows.

Punjab bowlers were successful  as

Parvinder Awana , Akshar Patel, Mitchell Johnson and Karanveer Singh  picked up two wickets each.

Rishi Dhawan took the wicket of Pietersen.
