Kolkata, May 22 (IBNS): In a crucial match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) booked a play-off berth defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 30 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Thursday.

Riding on Robin Uthappa 's unbeaten 83, which sizzled KKR fans on a summer afternoon, his team posted 195 for four while

Uthappa played a lead role which helped KKR post a massive 195 on the scoreboard.

He smashed 10 boundaries and six in his 51-ball knock.

Though Gautam Gambhir (4) and Manish Pandey (13) departed early, Uthappa continued to hold on the other end.

With 23-2 after 3.4 overs, KKR needed a good partnership to stabilise the innings.
