IPL: BCCI invites tender for media rights

Mumbai, Jan 21 (IBNS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday invited bids for media rights connected to the Indian Premiere League (IPL) for the upcoming three seasons.

 "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (“BCCI”) has published an ITT for certain Media Rights relating to the Pepsi Indian Premier League (“Pepsi IPL”), for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons," read a statement issued by BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel.

"The upcoming seasons of the Pepsi IPL will be broadcast across the world through every technological medium available, thus reaching out to an even larger audience. The Digital medium, for instance, is rapidly gaining in terms of popularity and usage, with more and more fans relying on digital devices to follow their favourite teams and players before, during and after the matches. The Pepsi IPL will aim to enhance the viewing, digital and interactive experience for cricket fans across the globe, by introducing diverse consumer-friendly innovations that will bring them closer to the action in their favourite sporting league," read the statement.

"The ITT document will be available at the BCCI Headquarters at the Cricket Centre, Wankhede Stadium, ‘D’ Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays, and excluding Sundays), from Thursday, 22nd January 2015 to Monday, 2nd February 2015, at a cost of INR 2,00,000/- (non-refundable and non-adjustable), to be paid vide a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “ Board of Control for Cricket in India,” payable at Mumbai or Chennai (“Tender Fee”)," read the statement.

"Bids should be submitted in person at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, 3rd February 2015, at a meeting of the BCCI Marketing Committee, at which time it is intended that the Bids will be opened, evaluated and the Tender awarded in the presence of Bidders," it said.

  The franchise-based cash rich cricketing league witnesses the participation of prominent names from the world of international cricket along with Indian and domestic players.
