IPL: Another Covid positive case found in Delhi Capitals' camp

Mumbai: The Covid-19 count in the Delhi Capitals' camp has risen to six, with another overseas player testing positive on Wednesday.

The positive result came through on the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and further tests are being done, Cricbuzz reported. Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play Punjab Kings at the Brabourne stadium later in the day, but now question mark has risen whether the match will take place or not.

It is understood that Punjab Kings have left for the ground.

The IPL guidelines allow for a team to play the game even with minimal contingent, but there is an option to reschedule as well.

Further developments are awaited. On the eve of the match, the BCCI in a release said that the fixture between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings had moved from the MCA Stadium, Pune, the original venue for the game, to the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai "to avoid any further incident due to any undetected case during a long-distance bus journey in a closed environment."

Mitchell Marsh and four members of the Delhi Capitals support staff tested positive for Covid-19.

All five of them are under isolation and medical observation.

They will be tested on Day 6 and 7 and are subject to both the tests being negative to be re-integrated into the Delhi Capitals bio-secured bubble.
