IPL 2020 clash: RCB restrict RR at 154/6

Abu Dhabi/UNI: Fine bowling spell by Chahal 3/24, Udana 2/41 helped RCB restrict RR at 154/6 in 20 overs here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Saturday.

Towards the end of the innings it was Rahul Tewatia 24 off 12 (3 sixes), and Jofra Archer 16 off 10 (1 four, 1 six) not out scoring 40 runs for the seventh wicket taking RR to 154/6 in 20 overs.

RR openers Steven Smith and Jos Buttler started on a steady note putting up a 27 run stand for the first wicket.

The duo stand didn't last long as skipper Smith departed early at 5 (1 four) in the third over bowled by Udana. RR first wicket went down at 27.

After exit of Smith Sanju Samson came in and along with Buttler had gathered 4 runs for the second wicket, but Buttler's stay was cut short caught at first slip by Padikkal in Saini's spell in 4th over. Buttler 22 came in 12 balls which included 3 fours and one six.

RR were now 2 down at 31. With Buttler gone Sanju Samson also fell early at 4 (1 four) in the very next over caught and bowled by Chahal.

Rajasthan third down at 31. The teams fifty came in 8th over.

After Samson, Lomror came in and along with Uthappa managed to built a partnership of 39 runs for the fourth wicket, but Chahal broke the stand between duo taking his second wicket of Uthappa at 17 off 22 balls (1 four). RR were 4 down at 70.

With Lomror and Riyan Parag still at the crease playing sensibly 100 came for RR in 15.1 over.

With Lomror and Parag had put 35 runs on board for fifth wicket, but Udana claimed his second wicket sending Parag back to the pavillion in 16th over at 16 off 18 (1 four).

While it was another beauty by Chahal grabbing his third wicket that of Lomror in 17th over. Lomror 47 off 39 (1 four, 3 sixes). RR were 6 down at 114.

Rahul Tewatia 24 off 12 (3 sixes), and Jofra Archer 16 off 10 (1 four, 1 six) remained not out and added 40 runs for the seventh wicket taking RR to 154/6 in 20 overs.
