Injured Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of World Cup

London, June 19 (IBNS): Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, who was injured during the World Cup match against Australia, has been ruled out from the rest of the tournament, media reports said.

He was suffering from thumb injury.

Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was added as a cover for the southpaw and is currently in England with the team , is going to be his official replacement.

Despite his injury, Dhawan scored a century in the clash against Australia.

However, he missed the match against Pakistan on Sunday.
