INDvSA: Jadeja, Mukesh Kumar make cut in Team India for Cape Town Test

| @indiablooms | Jan 03, 2024, at 08:05 pm

Cape Town/UNI: South Africa won the toss and elected to bat in the second and final Test match against India at Newlands here on Wednesday.

Both sides made some interesting changes. India picked a specialist bowler in the form of Mukesh Kumar instead of Shardul Thakur, and Ravindra Jadeja for Ravichandran Ashwin.

The Proteas, meanwhile, have further cushioned their bowling by inducting Keshav Maharaj for Keegan Petersen, and Lungi Ngidi comes in for Gerald Coetzee and Tristan Stubbs for Temba Bavuma.

India captain Rohit Sharma stated he also looked at batting first but hopes to cash in on the seaming pitch at Newlands.

He also said they are upbeat about what they can achieve, and understand the importance of getting runs on the board and getting 20 wickets.

"This did not happen in the first game but we are upbeat about what we can achieve here," Rohit said.
