Indian boxers Jaismine Lamboria, Minakshi Hooda clinch gold at World Boxing Championships 2025

Jaismine hammered Olympic silver medalist Julia Szeremeta of Poland in the clash for the yellow medal.

Jaismine clinched the gold medal in the 57 kg category bout by winning it through a split decision.

The Indian boxer won the match by 4-1 margin.

Despite lagging initially, she bounced back with a strong performance later in the game.

"This feeling can't be expressed, I'm so happy to be a world champion," Jaismine told Olympics.com.

"After my early exit at Paris 2024, I went away and improved my technique physically and mentally. This is the result of consistent work for a year," she said.

Minakshi Hooda also brought laurels for the country by winning the gold medal at the World Boxing Championships on Sunday.

In the 48 kg category, Minakshi won gold by beating multiple-time Worlds gold medallist and Paris Olympics bronze winner Nazym Kyzaibay.

Despite a tough competition that went down to the wire, Minakshi won the gold medal bout by a split decision of 4-1.

Nupur Sheoran and Pooja Rani earlier settled for silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian boxers for their gold medal-winning performance.
