Kanpur, Oct 28 (IBNS): In a match that went down to the end, Indian bowlers managed to script a memorable six runs victory over New Zealand to clinch series 2-1 here on Sunday.

After scoring 337 runs for the loss of four wickets, Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to 331 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Colin Munro (75), Kane Williamson (64) and Tom Latham (65) tried their best to reach the target of 338 runs.

However, it was Indian bowlers who kept themselves calm to manage a victory.

Bumrah picked up three wickets for India.

Guided by Rohit Sharma (147) and Virat Kohli (113)'s gutsy knocks, India posted massive 337 runs for the loss of six wickets in the third ODI match against New Zealand on Sunday.

The match assumes significance for Kohli as he completed 9000 runs in ODI and became the fastest man to reach the milestone.

After Shikhar Dhawan (14) departed, it was Sharma who showed his charisma with his willow.

Sharma hammered 18 boundaries and two sixes in his knock as he smashed New Zealand bowlers outside the park.

Kohli hit his 32nd century of the career where he added nine boundaries and a six to make the moments memorable for the spectators.

MS Dhoni added quick 25 runs with his bat.

Tim Southee and Adam Milne picked up two wickets for New Zealand.
