India thrash New Zealand in second ODI by 90 runs, lead series 2-0

Mount Maunganui, Jan 26 (IBNS): India outplayed New Zealand in the second ODI by 90 runs to extend their lead in the series to 2-0 here on Saturday.

After setting a target of 325, India bowled out New Zealand for 234 in 40.2 overs.

Doug Bracewell was the only batsman who showed some resilience with bat for the hosts. He scored 57 off 46 balls.

India's spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav picked four wickets for 45 in 10 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal shared two wickets each.

Mohammed Shami and Kedar Jadhav clinched one wicket each.

Earlier riding on Sharma's 87 and Dhawan's 66, India scored 324/4 in 50 overs.

Continuing his good form from Australia, Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained unbeaten after playing an aggressive knock of 33-ball 48.

Skipper Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu made significant contributions with their respectively innings of 43 and 47.

Kedar Jadhav played a cameo by scoring 22 off 10 balls lower down the innings.

Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson shared two wickets each.
