India-Sri Lanka Test: Dhawan, KLRahul give India strong start in second innings

Kolkata, Nov 19 (IBNS): Indian batsmen-KL Rahul (73) and Shikhar Dhawan (94)- managed to give home side strong opening stand in the second innings of the ongoing first Test match against Sri Lanka here on Sunday.

India finished the day at 171 runs for the loss of a wicket.

India are currently 49 runs ahead of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 294 runs in their first innings after Indian first innings were wrapped up for 172 runs earlier.

India have lost the wicket of Dhawan who was just six runs short of his century.

Cheteshwar Pujara, who was the top scorer for India, remained unbeaten at 2 at the end of the day.
