India bowl out SA for 214, Murali Vijay Shikhar Dhawan score 80/0 at stumps

Bangalore, Nov 14 (IBNS): Putting pressure on South Africa Indian openers scored 80 for the loss of no wickets at stumps on the first day of the second Test match here on Saturday.

Bowling out South Africa for 214 runs, Murali Vijay (28*) and Shikhar Dhawan (45*) made a bold start to their innings as India trail the visitors by 134 runs.

South African bowlers toiled hard but failed to disturb the Indian openers who stood firm on the crease.

Playing his 100th Test match, Abraham Benjamin 'AB' de Villiers fell 15 short of his century, caught by wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha on the nick of tea-time, here on the first day of the second Test match.
Indian spinners shined once again as they destroyed the opposition who have been struggling since the first Test in Mohali.

R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets each to reduce the South African batting while Varun Aaron took one to grab the match in India's favour.

AB de Villiers (85), by far was the only South African batsman who looked comfortable against the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

After being asked to bat, Hashim Amla's men hardly added 15 on the board before spun the cherry to remove van Zyl for 10 and within the next three deliveries sent Francoise du Plessis back to the pavillion, who so far had a forgettable series with scores of 0, 1 and 0 in the three innings he faced.

South Africa's captain Hashim Amla with his dogged play tried resisting along with Dean Elgar but Varun Aaron pitched one in good line that pegged back Amla's stump, leaving his side reeling at 45 for the loss of 3 wickets.
