London, Aug 22 (IBNS): With back-to-back defeats hitting Indian team hard in the recent Test series against England, the visitors finally registered a victory in the country as they defeated county side Middlesex by 95 runs in a limited overs practice match at the Lord's here on Friday.

With the ODI series against England starting next week, the victory surely increased the confidence of the Indian cricketers.

After being all out at 230 in 44.2 overs, it was the Indian bowlers who destroyed the opponent and sent the entire batting lineup back to the pavilion for 135.

Ryan Higgins (20) and James Harris (20) were the only batsmen to touch the 20-figure mark for Middlesex.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Dhawal Kulkarni and R Ashwin took one wicket each. Spinner Karn Sharma picked up three wickets.

Despite failing with this willow in the Test series, Virat Kohli, who captained the side in the match, scored 71 runs in the match.

Ambati Rayudu scored 72 runs and was the top scorer for India.
