Umesh was the pick of the Indian bowlers, tormenting the visitors with his pace and eventually managing to trap Mominul Haque in front.
The southpaw was dismissed for 12 runs.
Starting the day on their overnight score of 41 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, the visitors made a faulty start, losing senior player Tamim Iqbal early.
Tamim was run out by Umesh for 24 runs.
Mahmudullah Riyad hit four fours in his 57-ball knock before he fell prey to Ishant.
Riyad too was out LBW (leg before wicket).
Riyad and Shakib Al Hasan forged a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
The latter is unbeaten at 29 runs and will resume his innings alongside Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (6) when play starts in the post lunch session.
