Islamabad, Aug 21 (IBNS): Pakistan's new Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday announced he has appointed Ehsan Mani as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

"I have appointed Ehsan Mani as Chairman PCB. He brings vast and valuable experience to the job. He represented PCB in the ICC; was Treasurer ICC for 3 yrs and then headed the ICC for another 3 yrs," Khan tweeted.

Najam Sethi resigned from the post on Monday.

Posting the resignation letter which Sethi submitted, Pakistan Cricket Board tweeted: "Chairman PCB @najamsethi submits his resignation to Prime Minister, Imran Khan."

Sethi said he was waiting to submit his resignation till new Pakistan Prime Minister took charge of the position.

Imran Khan, the newly elected Pakistan PM, took oath last week.

"I was waiting for the new Prime Minister to take oath before submitting my resignation as PCB Chairman, which I have done today. I wish PCB all the best and hope our cricket team goes from strength to strength. Eid Mubarak. Pakistan Zindabad," Sethi tweeted.

It was during Sethi's regime that international cricket returned to Pakistan.

Zimbabwe, West Indies Sri Lanka, and World XI  visited Pakistan and played series against the home side.
