I-L: East Bengal beat Mohammedan

Kolkata, Apr 5 (IBNS): Keeping hopes of clinching the title alive, East Bengal beat Mohammedan Sporting in a round 24 encounter of the Airtel I-League at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Saturday.

 

East Bengal defeated opponent by 3-1 margin.
 
Ryuji Sueoka (11th minute), Joaquim Abranches (40 minute) and Edeh Chidi  (61st minute)  ensured a victory for East Bengal.
 
Josimar da Silva scored the only goal for Mohammedan Sporting in the 41st minute which reduced the margin.
 
Sueoka  gave an early lead for East Bengal while   Abranches increased the margin to 2-0.  Josimar 's goal reduced the margin but Chidi, who  entered 100 goals club, ensured victory for the  red-and-gold brigade.
 
With few more games left to avoid relegation ,  Mohammedan Sporting  stood at the bottom of the table after the defeat.
