Perth, Mar 6 (IBNS): Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who guided his team to a victory against West Indies,on Friday said he was happy with the performance of his team in the match.

"I think it was a difficult wicket, even initially with the new ball. There was some variable bounce, it was doing a bit. It settled down later, there was some swing for the West Indies bowlers as well, with the new ball," Dhoni said after the match.

"Our bowlers didn't try too much, they stuck to their line and length, it had a bit more bounce, gave quite a few wides bowling bouncers, but we also got wickets with the bouncer, so very happy with our performance," he said.

He said Ravindra Jadeja will need to ';step up' his performance.

Dhoni remained unbeaten at 45 as he guided India to a four wickets victory against West Indies.

India also booked a seat in the quarter-finals with the win.

Meanwhile, creating a new record, Dhoni has become the most successful Indian captain in terms of ODI victories in the foreign lands.

He surpassed Sourav Ganguly's record of 58 victories with his 59th win in this match.
