Gary Kirstein says Pakistan's cricket team lacks unity and fitness

| @indiablooms | Jun 18, 2024, at 09:54 pm

Pakistan coach Gary Kirstein has expressed concern over the teams fitness level after it exited the T20 World Cup from group stage following shock defeats against teams like the USA and India.

Sources told Geo News that Kirsten, in a discussion with the Pakistan team following their exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, expressed concerns over the players' fitness levels, stating they are not up to the mark.

He said the team's skill level is lagging behind the rest of the world.

"Despite playing so much cricket, no one knows which shot to play and when," Kirsten told the Pakistani news channel.

He also said he observed that the Pakistani team lacked unity since he took charge of it.

Kirsten has made it clear that only players who improve on these aspects will remain in the team, while those who do not will be excluded, Geo News reported.

Pakistan managed to win their last match against Ireland in Florida.

Pakistan finished in the third position in the Group A, below India and the USA.
