Ex-Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik retires from ODI cricket

London, July 6 (IBNS): Former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik, who has played several memorable knocks with his bat, retired from the ODI format of the game on Friday after his side defeated Bangladesh in their last World Cup match.

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 94 runs.

Malik will continue to play the T20 format.

Malik played three matches in the major cricket event of the year.

In his ODI career, Malik  287 played One-day Internationals (ODIs) and scored 7534 runs at an average of 34.55.
