Don't keep the fans waiting for 4 years please: Gayle tweets on ICC World T20
The next ICC World T20 is scheduled to be held in 2020.
Australia will host the tournament.
In his Twitter page, Gayle tweeted: "When is the next #WT20? 4years? #ICC that's too long. I need another... Don't keep the fans waiting for 4years plz. 🿠I want to say oops we did it again with big Benn."
Gayle failed with the bat and scored only 4 runs in the final but other West Indies batsmen, specially Marlon Samuels (85*) and Carlos Brathwaite (34*), played brilliantly to beat former champions England and help their side regain the trophy they had won in 2012.
West Indies became the first team in the world to win the ICC World T20 trophy twice since the tournament had started in 2007.
West Indies won both the titles under the leadership of Darren Sammy.
