Dhoni rested for first Test against Australia

Mumbai, Nov 10 (IBNS) Virat Kohli will lead India in the first Test against Australia, starting on Dec 4, in Brisbane since captain M.S. Dhoni has been rested for the same as a prophylactic measure to ensure optimum recovery of his arm injury, said the BCCI on Monday.

Dhoni will join the team from the second Test onwards, and will lead the team for the rest of the Test series.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Mumbai Monday to select the Indian teams for the last two matches of the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka ODI Series, 2014, and the tour of Australia for a four-Test series. 

The teams are as follows:

Shikhar Dhawan and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the last two matches.
