Davis: Somdev to keeps India's hopes alive

Bangalore, Sept 14 (IBNS): Indian Tennis star Somdev Devvarman kept the country's chances in the Davis Cup World Group play-off tie by beating world number 61 Serbian Dusan Lajovic here on Sunday.

The win put the match between India and Serbia leveled at 2-2.

In a marathon five-set clash, the Indian Tennis star defeated his opponent 1-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The match was looking tougher for Somdev at the initial rounds with his opponent dominating the first round.

Somdev came back strongly to beat the Serbian in three hours and 37 minutes.

The fate of the contest now rests in the clash between India's Yuki Bhambri and  Filip Krajinovic.
