DAV Chandigarh, La Martiniere, Jatragachi and South Point emerged champions

The regatta was restricted to  Fours event only and was rowed over  five hundred metres course length.

In the  most keenly contested  race of the day, Chandigarh team represented by Akashdeep singh,Harpreet Singh, Shahwinder Singh, Harpreet Singh and Karmchand showed fine stamina to put  National High School  at the post by  just one boat length. Chhhandigarh clocked  2m0.96s against 2m03s by National High.  South point High school finished third .
The   title in the  senior girls  went  to La Martinier  as they won  the gold  defeating St. John’ Diocesan . Mahi Lal, Ishani Bachwat, Sanjana Ghosh and Viveka Mansata  La Martiniere  clocked 2m17.58s  to retain the title they won last year. Ballygune Siksha Sadan  came third  in this group.

Jatragachi Rajarhat, the green horn  in this meet who  came from rural back ground  earned  lots of kudos as  in their second year of rowing career  finished first  in Junior Boys  section.  Rajesh Ali, Rejaul Karim, Afridi Ali and eleven year old Rajaul  Molla  in  an all out  effort  beat  St.Lawrence High School with a timing of  2m36.64s.  the third place in this section went to La Martinier for Boys.

South Point School , once  a force to reckon with, had to be contended this time  emerging  best in Junior Girls  division only. South Point clocked  2m31.48s to  to defeat  La martiniere  in the final. G D Birla  Centre  For Education  finished third.

V S Parthasarathy ,Chief Financial Officer of  Mahindra & Mahindra , the sponsors of this  school regatta  gave away   the  trophies in presence of  Mr. K Psingh Dep, President Emiretus of Rowing Federation of India,  veteran oarsman Brig(retd) Praveen Uberou  and other noted oarsmen  of the country.

Earlier president of lake club, the organiors of this regatta  welcomed the participants  and announced  scholarships  for the  students  who emerged from the  school  regatta and  won medals in the national and other championships.
