Cue Magicians extend their winning streak

Kolkata, Aug 13 (IBNS): An outstanding performance by the current World No. 3 in Billiards, Sourav Kothari, saw his team Cue Magicians get better of The Rockets on the third day of the ongoing Bengal Premier League (Cue Sports) at the Bengal Rowing Club here on Wednesday. With this win, Cue Magicians have won all three of the matches that they have played so far.

Leading from the front, Kothari thrashed Akram Khan 100-00 in the second frame and also guided his team to a score of 3-2 over his opponents. However, he lost the doubles with Kingshuk Saha to the duo of Sandip Gulati and Shakil Ahmed but that did not deter his teammates Shoaib Khan and Gautam Khanwani who won their respective frames.

However, Manish Jain led ELVY 147 tasted their first loss of the tournament as they were beaten by Black Panthers led by Manan Chandra 1-4. The Panthers completely bludgeoned them claiming the first four frames before Manish restored parity in the last frame beating Arshad Zama. In another match of the day, former India No. 2 Brijesh Damani produced a scintillating display of skill and class to notch a 116-00 win over Sushil Sarda of Snookin Shooters. He however could not help his team Satrangi Squad as they lost the match 2-3 to Snookin Shooters.
