CLT20: Lahore Lions beat MI

Raipur, Sept 13 (IBNS): Lahore Lions defeated India's Mumbai Indians by six wickets in the second qualifier of the Champions League T20 here on Saturday.

Chasing 136 for victory., Lions reached the target of 139 runs by losing four wickets with eight balls to spare.

After openers Nasir Jamshed (26) and Ahmed Shehzad (34) gave the side a 51-runs stand, it was Umar Akmal who finished the task with his unbeaten 38.

Akmal smashed four boundaries and two sixes in his 18 balls knock.

Pragyan Ojha picked up two wickets for Mumbai.

With few prominent international stars in their line-up, Lahore side has a string chance to move to the next round of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians earlier scored 135 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Aditya Tare was the top scorer for the side with his 37.

Wahab Riaz  and Aizaz Cheema picked up two wickets for Lahore.

In the first Qualifier of the day,  Northern Districts  defeated   Southern Express by seven wickets and 38 balls to spare.

Chasing   Southern Express' 92 for five,    Northern  reached 96 runs by losing three wickets.

Kane Williamson top scored for Northern Districts with his sensational 52.
