Sydney, Jan 8 (IBNS): Cricketer Chris Lynn has been  ruled out of the Gillette ODI Series due to a calf injury, Crcket Australia confirmed on Monday.

Lynn had scans on Saturday after picking up a calf injury in a KFC BBL match at the Gabba on Friday night and Cricket Australia has announced the 27-year-old will miss the ODIs against England this month.

However, his replacement in the squad has not been named.

"Chris initially left the field against the Scorchers complaining of tightness in his calf," Cricket Australia’s Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager Alex Kountouris was quoted as saying by board's website.

"He reported increasing discomfort over the 24 hours that followed and the Heat’s medical staff made the decision to send him for a scan," he said.

"That scan confirmed the injury, which is expected to prevent him from playing for three to four weeks," he said.

"When Chris recovers, the expectation is that he will need to prove his fitness in match action before being considered again for international selection," he said.
