Brazil outplay Serbia to enter knockout stage of FIFA World Cup

Moscow, Jun 27 (IBNS): Five-time world champions Brazil comfortably reached the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2018 by defeating Serbia in their final Group E match at the Spartak Stadium here on Wednesday.

Brazil clinched the win 2-0.

Paulinho helped Brazil to get a lead in the first half by scoring a goal at the 36th minute of the match.

Though Serbia were fighting hard in the second half, Thiago Silva scored the second goal for Brazil at the 68th minute.

In another Group E match, Switzerland drawn with Costa Rica 2-2 to reach the last 16 of the world cup.
