Bengal Pro T20: Kolkata Tigers down Howrah Warriors by 16 runs in rain washed match

Kolkata/IBNS: Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers beat Adamas Howrah Warriors by 16 runs in rain washed Bengal Pro T20 League match in Kolkata's Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

The star performers for Kolkata Tigers were Avilin Ghosh (42), Sandeep Tomar (28) and Sujit Yadav (3/17).

Saurabh Srivastava was named the man of the match for his superb all-round performance.

Batting first, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers posted 125 in 20 overs.

In reply, Adamas Howrah Warriors were struggling at 54/5 in 10.3 overs.

Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Kolkata Tigers dealt an early blow with the dismissal of their captain Abhishek Porel  for a golden duck.

However, Avilin Ghosh (42), Sandeep Tomar (28), helped the team recover after a slow start.

Saurabh Srivastava (21) played a handy knock in the end to take team to a the highest total till date in this tournament.

For Howrah Warriors, Sujit Yadav was the pick of the bowlers bagging 3 for 17.

Chasing the target, Howrah Warriors were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 54/5 inside 10.3 overs when rain spoiled the match.

However, Anustup Majumdar (13) played a fighting knock.

As wickets kept tumbling at the other end, Saurabh Srivastava (3 off 9) gave a big momentum to Kolkata Tigers.
