Australia win toss, elect bat first against India in Nagpur

Nagpur/IBNS/UNI: Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium here on Thursday.

India's new star batter Suryakumar Yadav and wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat made their Test debut for India on Thursday.

Around 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in the VCA stadium in Maharashtra's Nagpur city for the India-Australia test cricket match, sources said.

Besides, Quick Response Team (QRT) personnel have also been deployed on the route from two city-based hotels, where the players are staying.

More than 40 metal detectors and door frame monitors have been installed at all entry points as security measures,sources added.
