Australia defeat India by four wickets in high-scoring encounter

Mohali, Mar 10 (IBNS): In a thrilling high-scoring encounter, Australia defeated India by four wickets to level the series 2-2 here on Sunday.

The match saw both the team scoring over 300 runs.

After India posted 358 runs for the loss of nine wickets, Australia reached 359 runs target by losing just six wickets in 47. 5 overs.

Handscomb (117), Turner (84*) and Usman Khawaja (91) helped Australia register victory in the match.

The Indian bowlers failed miserably in the clash and all of them gave away runs

Bumrah picked up three wickets and remained the top wicket taker for the team.

However, none of them could stop the opponent batsmen.

Riding on Shikhar Dhawan's (143) and Rohit Sharma (95)'s swashbuckling knocks, India posted massive 358 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the fourth ODI match against Australia here on Sunday.

The match is crucial as it will decide the future course of the series as it is currently standing at 2-1.

Dhawan showed return to form as he smashed 143 runs off 115 balls. He smashed 18 boundaries and three sixes in his knock.

Sharma also returned to form smashed seven boundaries and two sixes in his innings.

Rishabh Pant, who is playing as the wicket-keeper in the absence od MS Dhoni, scored 36 runs.

Dhoni has been rested for the last two matches of the series.

Cummins picked up five wickets for Australia.
